ive heard from one of the other neon forums....that if you use a 93 shadow driver side axle....a 01 pt cruiser passenger axle, and a 2000 dodge neon hub...that its like stage 2 axles for all the 1st gen neons....can anyone verify that this is true?
I saw someone who used the PT knuckles and hubs when he swapped over the SRT-4 brakes and calipers. He mentioned that PT Cruiser and 1st Gen neon have different spline counts.
That would explain why you have to use the 2nd gen hub with the PT axle. Also if the '93 Shadow has the same spline count as the 2nd gen then that case is closed.
Now the question "Is the PT axle stronger than the OEM gen 1 axle. If it is, is it strong enough to be worth the cost of the swap, or just buy stage II axles?
Excuse my ignorance, but it seems that I have heard that PT parts can be used to make the axles equal length in the 1st gen Neons. Could this be where someone is determining "strength". I will see what I can find out.
