ok i have a 96 neon mtx sohci have ablown motor i have found a 2000 sohc out of a neon no transmision. My question is: Will the transmision onthe 96fit on the 2000 motorand can i use the 2000s wiring harnessor do i have to use the 96 and what other parts do i need? thanks alot for the help
It is a 2.0L SOHC engine but has some differences. The mounting system is different, accesories are in a serpentine style belt and the air intake is in a different location.

the guy at the yard said that i just need to take off and adapter and it is ready to drop in and it looks just like my 96 motor if i can i will try to get some pictures but it looks the same the valve cover looks a little diffrent
ok i am looking to swap my 96 sohc(i blow the motor on that one) and upgrade to a 2000 sohc the guy at the yard said that i have to change a motor mount and drop it in now can i use the wireing harness thats on the 2000 motor or do i need to change the wiring harness and sencers please help or tell me who to talk to to find out

OK, after some research this is what I came up with:
To swap the 00 motor into your 96 you will need to swap sensors and brackets as needed, use your 96 intake and exhaust manifolds, your 96 wiring harness and PCM, swap the crank pulley and timing belt cover. You can also swap over your 96 valve cover.
The 00 engine also has the EGR blockoff plate on there, so you will need to remove it and install your 96 EGR on there or leave it blocked off if you don't mind the CEL or you have an aftermarket PCM.
