Default Please help

87 w100 318 2brl Just bought it last week. I have rebuilt the carb changed plugs rotor cap wires coil cat. converter fuel filter twice and sometimes when I hit the throttle easy or hard it acts like it wants to fall on its face don't know what else to try

timing could be off. does your truck have the lean burn system? if it has a computer behind the battery it most likely does. who rebuilt the carb and did they also tune it after it was installed on the truck?

Also checked the timing carb was rebuilt from a guy I work with he did nothing but rebuild carbs for years seems to be pretty proficient at it

but did he tune it when it was put back on the truck. lot of people get there carbs rebuilt and assume they are tuned right when they get them back but they are not. they are usually set too rich which can cause the symptoms you are describing.

I will have to ask tomorrow also what is this about a lean fuel system how can I check

the lean burn system is a computer controlled carb system. from what i have read the system can be a pain in the but if it starts acting funny. most people like converting from lean burn to HEI when they start having problems since you can get a HEI setup for less than $150 and most people say they feel a huge difference.

Ok good deal will look in to it also can the carb be adjusted with the two screws without the carb being pulled apart

yes. the screw can be a bit difficult to reach while the truck is running but you can get to them.

Definitely no lean fuel system can check the carb after work. Could it be a bad o2 sensor? Or maybe just bad tranny and transfer case fluid? Not sure what else to do
