Alternator Fuse Location 2001 Ram
I"ve put in 2 new alternators in but my battery won't stay charged. I'm thinking maybe it's a blown Alt fuse? Opening the fuse box, there is no alt fuse location listed. Where is it?
(with a new battery, charged fully, the truck will run for about
6 - 8 times, driving short distances, before the battery goes dead and I have to recharge it again.)
(also, I had the truck running and disconnected the positive cable, and the truck died)
2001 Dodge Ram, V-8, 96,000 miles
Another possible reason for the problem - I had a fender bender and it crumpled the hood...so I bought a new hood and replaced it. But I cut the wires to the 'under the hood' light and have never done anything with that. Could that be a problem causing my battery not charging?
Thanks for any help.

sorry to leave you hanging, some people call it a fusible link. it has screws or bolts holding it in. the only one that has big gauge wire going to it, that wire goes directly to the alt., start at the alt. if that is easier for you.
