You have said no start, no fire, no fuel. Does it turn over?

If you are getting load voltage out of the ASD and the fuel pump doesn't come on when you first turn the key there is something wrong with the wiring from the ASD to the pump.

Yes it turns over......doing just like it did when I replaced the crank sensor.....Turned over but no fuel and no fire..... except this time the check engine light no longer comes on at all and the fact that all the smoke came from hood in the battery area. Nothing makes any noise from under the hood.........relays... or under the truck..... the fuel pump...... There is 12 volts at the relay... blue wire and green wire... but nothing at the coil while cranking it over. Sorry if I don't make much sense...... just learning this electrical stuff !!

for some reason something is not sounding right. you should have have constant power at the red wire and ignition power at one of the blue wire.

ya. terminal #30 needs power. i am guessing you might have a bad wire or fusible link. from the looks of things the asd relay might sit behind 2 fusible links. this picture might help out but you might have to open your harness up in the fusible link area.

Well...... I finally got a chance to do some checking and I found a burnt fusible link !! It comes from a red wire and has a grey looking fusible link that is connected to the outside orange fusible link. I checked with my meter to see if it was the red wire on the asd relay... and it is!~!! Now ........ is replacing this fusible link all that needs to be replaced? Is there something else I need to check for? Why would it burn out? I am learning alot !!! Thank you so much !!

Fusible links normally only burn out due to a short somewhere in the protected circuits. I would check for any shorts down stream of the burnt fusible link before I replaced it. You can't solder any part of the fusible link itself. You must solder on the lead wires of the link.

Personally I think fusible links are old technology. I would get a circuit breaker to replace the burnt link.

the new fusible link system is a lot nicer and easier to work on than the old one like on these trucks. the newer ones are just like changing a fuse.

i think you might be able to just replace the fusible link. if it blows immediately then you got a short but if it doesn't then a combination of age and how thin the fusible link is could have caused it to fail.
