Why is "1st gen" what it is?
Dodge has been building trucks since the 1920's, yet they consider"1st gen" to start somewhere in the 80's as if Dodge had never built a truck before that. We all know that they certainly did! So why don't any of the older ones get credit that is due in this "generation" category thing?
i myself have owned a 1969 and by the "gen" system that truck never existed. I don't get it.

and those called a "pilot house" cab back when their tagline was "job-rated" had a big chrome Ram for a hood ornament then too.....
to me it seems that we should be on at least Gen 7 or 8 by now.

like ~8 years ago when I bought a 83 D250 I called LMC and requested a catalog, and went thru their stupid automated "press 1 for this, press 2 for that, no we won't let you talk to a human" phone system and the automated voice said that my catalog for my 83 D250 is on its way, well I have been waiting since 2008 and still don't have it; now that my cousin owns that truck (and still drives it daily at well over 200K on the original engine) he finally got one from them;
but at the time, they advertised " '47 or newer chevy, '47 or newer Ford and '94 or newer Dodge" That pi$$ed me off because typically everyone conveniently forgets about Dodge, I have been driving for 34 years and have never owned anything else. (well, a few Jeeps but they too are part of the same company that Dodge is)
I recently needed some pushrods for my son's '90 W250 (360 gas) and was told by 1/2 the parts stores in town "not available/too old" because it would not come up on their computer parts lookup; if it were a 90 Chevy Ford or even (I'd never consider owning one of these) Toyota, it would have been "no problem". I did find them but did wind up having to get some from Autozone and some from Oreillys. Car Quest Advance and Federated could not get them.
