Default timing specs. for 360 engine

Does anyone have timing specifications for 1984 DodgeRam 3/4 Ton with 360 engine, 2 brl carb, auto trans. Please

off the top of my head? I think my 86 was supposed to be at 8 degrees advance, but I could be wrong. I'd just start there and crank it until you get ping then back it off a touch.

thank you for that info, my big problem is with the California smog people they keep saying it should be 16BTDC which makes the truck run like you know what. so that can't be right. Guess I should just move back to Alabama with it. no smog check there. Joruss

16?? that sounds way too far advanced for stock setup with 87 octane. Do the smog ***** actually check your timing??

According to my Chilton's manual, Light duty 14 BTdc, Heavy duty with out catalyst 4 BTDC, Heavy duty with catalyst 10 BTDC.
