Default 440 install

did it to my truck about 2 years ago its a 88 ram that had a 318, much more poweful

anyone else do this swap

took it to the track with the 318 ran a 19.3 then with the 440 in and ran a 16.3 (still stock cam) just got a 2200 stall and electric fan over the heavy clutch fan. takin it to the track next month to see if i can pull a high 15 , also still has stock 3.21 gears, thinking about 3.55 or 3.90

I had an 85 short bed and put a 383 4 barrel into. used the 8.75 3.23 one wheel wonder rear end in it. out in north dakota on the looonnngg flatsI could walk away from other kids new chevy vortec motors like nothing. in town on late night humid streets the one wheel could lay a lot of smoke. the truck was pretty fast!!! at about 50 mph when it shifted from 1st to 2nd it would jerk the truck and bark the tires!!

Does the 440 have the same motor mounts as a 360?

I would love to throw one in down the line.

The 360 and 440 have different mounts, you can goto 440source.com and get the mounts for a 440

Would like to do the same with my truck. I have been tossing the idea around for a while. Im leaning towards a built 360 though vice the 440 as I want run AC and use the truck for towing and my daily driver? Any thoughts on this??? I have a 1990 4x4 5.2 L TBFI
