'85 dodge power ram idlein' problems, help
Hey fellas. I got this Dodge Power Ram 250. Im tryin to fix it up for a local sport show thing, but I gotta start from the ground up. When you start the truck, and stay in park (its a automatic) It Idles extremely low. Sometimes to the point that it shuts off completely. Im thinkin its the carb. Any ideas?
It can be the carb, try starting it with the hood open so you can go under there n see whats happening as soon as its started. For starting out go buy some carb cleaner preferrably Amsoil Powerfoam, I myself have used that on my truck which isinjectionand some customer cars I have done tune ups on. Go that route first and the canof Powerfoamis not expensive. When you spray it spray it right down the carb (both sides)little by little until it almost diesthen as it returns to idle you spray more n so on. After you have been spraying for little whilelengthen the spraying time untilthe truck seems to be dying again etc etc. Use the whole can of it, this won't just clean your carb it will be cleaning you intake manifold and probably little of the valves also.
