What gives????
I have a 92 W150 with a FI 318 magnum, I had a problem with oil pressure and decided to install amechanical gauge, well to make more room I decided to remove the distributor cap and in doing so I snapped the screwthat holds the cap on. (SOB @#$!&*$@##!!!!!!).Long story short I pulled the distributor out (making note of the position) and tapped out the screw and reinstalled. I wanted to check the timing but when I went to put my mark on the damper there was no reference point (arrow/pointer).
Chiltons manual says that this year pickup doesn't get timed and that the PCM takes care of the timing.
Does anyone have any experience with this Chiltons doesn't get into any details about it.
Thanks
By the way the oil pressure gauge now reads 60 on startup and45 when hot

My magnum has that setupon it. The distributor uses a bug and sensor only. Timing cant be adjusted like on older models. My book says it uses a hall effect pickup and the pulses from the crank sensor to control timing. As far as oil pressure, thats about what mine does.
