im tryin to find out what would make my truck loud... i got a 74 dodge 200 so i can make it dual straights but would it make it loud goin form 1in exhaust to like a 5in tip...or if you know something that would make it loud let me know

 

have you dropped the muffler out and the cat?

 

if u want it almost street legal loud u can try flow master super 40's if it has a 440 run headers 2.5 inch pipe if u have a side mounted fuel tank u cant run true duals straight youll have to cross over to the other side and back i personally deem this to be ugly your other option could be simlar to my set up on my d100 true duals exit out the sides under the driver and passenger side door easy to unbolt and run straight side pipes for drag racing has well i used cheapo summit mufflers and headers it was hella loud my aftermarket radio and amp couldnt over come it.

i can post pics of how it is now for refrence but i bet u got the idea. itll probably look uneven because there not hooked to headers currently motors torn out going 408 mutli port injected big project

my buddy has a 79 chevy and he has no cats flowmaster 10 series and its 3 inch its the loudest truck in town

 

straight pipe 3" back. Thats as loud as it gets with the exception of right off the manifolds. lol

 

what do you mean by "not true duals" ? do they have to be mirror images to be "true" duals or something?

PS drill a hole in each exuahst manifold. get a really tough grade heat resistant bolt and tap the hole you drilled to recieve it. insert and remove as nessesary

 

Personally I believe I would run headers with a cast iron cutout with full exhaust, that way when you really don't want it loud, such as when getting officers of the law scouling at you you can run the standard exhaust, and when you want something louder you simply pull a **** and you have wide open exhaust right off the headers. You can pick them up from places like JC Whitney.
