Im about to buy a late 70's dodge ram extra cab 4x4. The truck has no motor and trans. I do have a 727 auto tranny but I dont like automatic... I also have a 4spd manual tranny granny low but its off of a 2wd. Can I put that tranny in the truck with the transfer case off of the 727and make it 4x4 again?I would also like to know if the clutch linkage would it correctly. Help would be much apreciated thnx!

 

No, it will not just bolt up.

But you can swap the output shaft from a 4wd transmission and the adapter onto your 2wd transmission (Granted that they're like Ford transmissions which I know about) and it will work..
