Default 87 D100 excelerating and dieing hard! PLZ HLP!

Okay this PU was running fine until putting a tank of premium in the other day since then it began to stall.. replaced plug wires, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, cap and rotors.

still stalls when trying to excelerate... replaced fuel pump added low voltage electric fuel pump.. 2.5-4.5 pressure...

still stalls when trying to excelerate
the tank has been blown out andcleaned all lines..
still stalls when trying to excelerate..
beginning to get frustrated with this one.

even emptied the fuel out thinking it was fouled somehow, and bought more premium still stalls when excelerating...

replaced most of the fuel lines with rubber hose thinking maybe rusty lines??
still stalling with exceleration...

ANYONE Else here run into this or have any suggestions.. I know it has to be something stupid.. running out of ideas..

even cleaned the carburator out
still stalls on exceleration...

every general thing has been done on this to remedy the issue but still seems to BITE THE DUST when you try to drive her...
idles fine for the most part... even goes in reverse.. but try getting this b-- to go forward is utterly impossible...

open to new thinking on this line......
please anyone...
almost seems like a stubborn mule that you can't get to move...
I have worked on cars for many years and this one is hitting me too hard to think about it any more. I might take a suggestionas I am ready to torch it!

LOL
HELP anyone???!!!!

How about vac? Also a thought about timming (and or vac advance if not a mechanical advance on your truck, I don't know)? Is it only under load, or is it bad with high RPM in park also? You could also try without the air filter, to increase the air flow to see what happens.

vac does not seem to be the problem. checked all lines and removed a few and blocked them off..
air cleaner was removed and still seems to be running sputtery.
timing could be an issue I will check to see if it is running according to specs where timing requires tomorrow.. I will post back after checking and see what can be reasolved if anything.

I am thinking since it has gone through 2 carbs since new that it may be again the carb as an issue.. not happy on that thought. owner told me that a previous mechanic had used the wrong air filter for a few years causing the carb to become a waste.. had it rebuilt once and then replaced.....
thanks for your thoughts anyone else on thinking it to be the carb?
about under a load---- it runs rough when in park and high RPM's

I also think it could be the carb. You can check fuel flow to the carb?
Check the carb accelerator. pump swirters.

If it runs normal when you first start it up cold or not had run for about an hour and the carb is not clogged,if there is enough sediment in the tank it will pull that junk to the pickup and clog the in tank filter and greatly reduce fuel flow,it has happened to me.

moparborn,
fuel to the carb is apparent after adding a low voltage electric pump.. there seems to be minimal pressure from the tankbut like I said nothing seems to be blocking the flow... had to suck the fuel line ( YUCK) to get it to drain; usually just blowing air in with the hose ususally gets fuel draining..
not this baby...
I'm not one to mess with carbs usually send them out to be refurb.. any insight to how you would go about doing this..allwould be appreciated.. thanks for the help...

the lady who owns it lets it sit for months on end ..I have warned her about the damage that comes with letting vehicles sit.. but she don't need it that often...I say she is better off without it but hey.. she is willing to pay to keep it running i guess..
possibly I will work the carb out for her

if you lead I will follow

lol
thanks again

thanks moparborn,

about that plugging up the sceen in the tank..
I am thinking that may be also an issue.. I have been thinking the amount coming out wasn't really as much as it should be ..and putting the low voltage pump I thought it should have fixed the issue..
still seems weak
I was thinking it would also compensate for a worn cam ,, that the replacement fuel pump isnt hitting the cam due to age and wear and the low volatage pump should off set that, I had fixed a similar problem with another dodge trucka year agobut this one is still sputtering as if we have done nothing to it;.;
the thing is: the tank was blown out and all fuel lines were also blown out.
I thought that would do the trick but I am kicking myself over thismule no end I think I am just missing the boat on it altogether,,
some times I just wish some vehicles never made it to my bay.. but hey live and learn
thank again

Maybe between low fuel supply and plugged up carb due to tank debris getting to the carb which might explain needing carbs so much, hate to say it but the tank might have to come down.

sometimes like i said I wish some of these vehicles wouldnt make it to my bay...
could you elaborate on anymore about the carb?
do you work on your own carbs successfully?
I find usually it is better to sub contract carbs for the mere reason I never had much success with them (my rating would be about 4 out of 10 would work, but 6 would be a problem; figured it wasn't worth it to me) ...any tips for an ol man?

If the idle circiut is plugged up it will not get the fuel it needs for the air and the idle circiut is used to about 2500-3000 rpm.
One idea is to run a line from a gas can of clean gas to the fuel pump and try to run the truck if it makes any difference, you will know from the pump back is a problem,if no difference go to the carb, use one you know is working, never use pressurized air to blow out a carb,it could lodge debri tighter, just use carb & choke cleaner,if it is a reman or new carb don't change any adjustments, just spray out the passages.
