Does the fact your using pocketed arms in conjunction with the spindles have any effect on the tie rod angle? Be less parallel to the lower cntrl arm coming in from the bottom with spindes only?
I cant be sure how just a spindle swap with stock lower arms would effect suspension geometry.I would think thegeometry would be even better without the pocketed arms. Its a well known fact that the best way to lower a vehicle and keep good suspension geometry is to use a drop spindle. It would depend on steering arm drop or rise forRam vs. Dakota. I didnt compare the the two prior to install. I dont think there would be any issues as far as strut rod to tie rod clearance is concerned. I see no reason why Dakota spindles and stock arms wont work,in fact it would probably be better. My truck aligned fine with no issues. Ive put around a hundred miles on it so far.

Here is a little better pic of suspension geometry.

Yes, thanks Ramblebee. I followed the thread on the other site, and I'm sure glad someone went through all the time and trouble to figure this out for the rest of us.
A BIG attaboy to Ramblebee![sm=hail.gif][sm=hail.gif]We're not worthy.
I also followed Ramblebee in the other forum. He does have some great info, his prodject was documented very well it makes for good learning material. I recieved the stock length springs from Eric at Mid America Customs today and I am expecting the control atms to arrive Mon. I will also Document the procedure it will be exactly what Ramblebee has done (thats where I got the idea) the only differrence is that I used 87-90 spindles and I had the tie rod hole reamed so that I could use my factory tie rods and so they could be installed from the top.

Okay, i just signed up here, i have a 1985 Ram 2wd and would like to lower it just a couple inches. I read through a lot of this thread, and just wanted to clear up on some stuff... So if i buy drop spindles for a 91-96 Dakota, they will bolt right in to my ram, with the only difference being that the tie rod end will go in from the bottom instead of the top? Sorry if i seems like I'm beating a dead horse, but I just want to be sure...
Thanks a lot,
David

David, that is the consensus right now. ONLY buy Belltech drop spindles... anything else is JUNK, I think on page 9 I posted places to get them, Stillen.com still has the best price. I still have to raise the money to get them, however, I already bought the stuff to flip the rear axle.
