Default 6 Cylinder in the 3/4 ton?

Was the 1st generation Dodge Ram 2500 or three-quarter ton available with a 6 cylinder gas motor? If so, what size was it and were they common?

I know nothing about these trucks, but I will be looking for one shortly. Were the engines 5.2L, 5.9L gas, and 5.9L diesel?

Thanks for your help.

A 3.9 liter V-6 was available from '89 up, but I couldn't find info about it being in the 2500.
I believe the 5.2 is a 318ci and the 5.9 is a 360ci, both V-8's.
The Cummins diesel is a 5.9 (359ci)inline 6.

Yes to your question. My brother had a 1994 Ram 1/2 ton with a 3.9 v6. Not the power of a v8 but worked alright in his standard truck. I had test drove a new 3/4 ton 4x4 standard cab truck in 1986, and it was equiped with the slant 6 and manual trans. Don't ask me why, but I still wish I would have bought that truck.
