i need parts
ok i'm new to this site. i got a 85 dodge ram150. it needs catalytic converter somg pump and i want to get 4.11 gears for iti need a place onlinethat has parts for a good price i'm almost 16 and not working full time so i dont have alot of money to spend but since i got this truck for free i got some extra moneyto puttowards her.

If you're money's limited forget the 4:11's for now, they'll kill your MPG's. Check with your inspection station, but we don't have a sniffer up here, just a gas cap breather check, so you might get away without the smog pump and cat.
Otherwise, try the local boneyards, and autoparts stores.

i told the guy i'm going to put 35s on itwithin a yearand he told me while the axel is apart now put 4.11s in it and it will give me 1-2mpg more. we just moved and where we used to live the guy just checked the tires, lights and brakes that was it. where we are now they do all the emisions stuff

ok well if your gonna put 35s then yes 4.11s will be a good a idea. but you should check the ratio youve got cause I *think* that your truck was available with 3.91:1 (also a 3.83 tow package)which will besatisfactory with 35still you get more cash.
also, you may need more guts outta the engine to spin those - but lets leave that upt osomeone else on the forum.
At anyrate, your probably lookin at about 300 or more for a new ring and pinion set. Anything from the mid 200s and down is a good price, unless its from a wrecker in which case you want top payless (and if its from a wrecker Idont see how youll know whatratio yourgetting anyhow). By the time you throw on your bigger rims (not to mention tires) your talking some serious cash. So after you buya new cat and pass smog regulations your money is gonna dry up.........then youve gotta put gas in the damn thing.
