Default 1988 Ram W150

Hello this is my first time on here. Last fall I picked up a 1988 ram w150 short bed with a 318 FI. The truck is in great shape. Very little rust and starts right up. I got this so when I go up north fishing I don't have to drive my 03 Durango 800 miles every few weeks and I save alot of gas with my wifes Civic. I need this truck real just to put my boat in the water and pull it out. This is the reason I am on the great site. I need to know what the bumper hitch can pull/hold. When I looked at it there was nothing stamped into the bumper. I saw a Ramcharger about 1990 or so that had on its bumper 5000/500. Can anyone help me? I will post my truck.

Those bumpers aren't very sturdy. The best thing is to get a Reese type hitch. They're fairly inexpensive, and will not break as easily. You may find one at a truck accessory place that they want to get rid of. But even a JC Whitney, or Tractor Supply hitch would be better than the bumper.
Of course it depends on the size/weight of your boat.
