Default tire sizes for lowered d100?

Okay,

From what I am reading the stock wheel is a 15X6.5, I hope eventually to buy a 15X8 wheel. For now, what is the widest tire I can put on a 15X6.5 and the 15X8? I know a 225/50-15 will fit a 6.5 rim, but I think it might be a little TOO low profile. I am lowering the truck 4"/6", and I don't mind more sidewall height, actually, I like it. The truck will end up with 3.90 or 4.10 gears, but has stock for now.

Right now the tires on my truck are 235/55/16,when I get my wheels widened or replaced I want to go with 295/50/16 in the rear and eventually 245/50/16 on front.
You can put around a 265 on a 8" rim and 235 on a 6.5 with no problem.

i lowered mine 7inches in the rear so it would set level and i have P255/70/15 all around with no problems, but i do believe the rims i got off a 85 model are 15x8 factory rally rims...
