Default 1988 W100 transmission

I am restoring a 1988 W100 for my son. I disconnected the computer and have installed a rebuilt 318 with an Edelbrock carb and Mopar electronic ignition. I have worked through the charging issues and such, but am stumped on how to get the lock up converter to work again. It currently has an electric lockup for the converter that obviously does not work since I unplugged the computer. It has a 3 speed automatic. Can I use an older style valve body on the transmission? Any suggestion is appreciated.

You would need a complete trans and converter that are non lockup,I believe.

The existing transmission and converter work fine in the non lock up mode. I want the converter to lock up when cruising down the road. I know it can be done with an electrical toggle switch, but I would rather it function as it should.

You may find some answers in this post. https://dodgeforum.com/m_1255123/tm.htm

The link of interest for adding electronic lockup control/overdrive on a non-computer truck is here. http://www.transmissioncenter.net/SwapInformation.htm

This is something I'm planning on doing to mine once I get that far

LOL, that was for a CB radio antenna. Kinda gives away its age.

I plan on performing the same conversion but not until next year at my rate. Give us a review on how things go, I know I'm not the only one interested. Good Luck!
