Look at what I`ve got
After all the months of talking about it, here is my parts list: Edelbrock 600 manual choke carb, Edelbrock performer intake manifold, Mopar Performance purple cam 450/455 @ 268/272, Edelbrock double roller timing set, Holley fuel pressure regulator and pressure gauge, and Mr. Gasket gasket set. Plus I am going to do a little port and polish on the heads and intake myself. By the end of the month I hope to hear it run.

put up a sound of the cam
I hope it will have a nice lope.

The pistons are coming back out this winter to get re-ringed with cast rings (F*$%ing chromoly crap!), and I'll be putting Edelbrock heads on with an Isky .505"/292*.
I'm stuck on body work right now because it's cheap but once I get to the engine work on my truck (gotta find another job first, extremely hard for me right now thanks to the slow economy) I'm thinking of an Isky Cam myself. I've had my eye on the 280-HL, that's a .465/280 cam with a "lopey idle". I'm more into putting in a cam for the sound than anything else, I may use the performance once in a while but with my truck being a DD I won't be flooring it everywhere.
I hate to be a kill joy, but it won't. Lift under .500" and duration under 290 are smooth idling cams.
