Default New to Forum....Just picked up a Dodge Ram 250

I just picked up a dodge ram 250 for a work/emergency response truck.

I dont know much about the truck, but I would like to do somethings to it....
I believe it has a 5.7 or 5.9 V8 in it. It looked like it has a TBI on it..Made by Holly.
Does anyone know if they make grilles for this truck...what can I do to make this truck...fast, dependable, and rough...what type of rear end does it have....SOME ONE HELP ME>>....lol

Im a chevy guy...it's my first Dodge...and I already like it..

Hey good to have you aboard, and good that you like your new dodge (by the way, i love my dodge, but damn i miss my blazer too).

Anyhow its a 5.9/360 (the 350 is a chev motor). Youll probably find that custom body parts (like a grill) are hard to come by. now i dont know what year yours is (but i know its 88 or newer since you are TBI) but theres a good chance youve got the chrome crosshair - which i think is the nicest anyhow.

as for your rearend. now im fairly sure that on the 3/4 ton it would be a 9.25. You can double check my indo by looking to see if it has 12 bolts on and could be 3.21, 3.55, or 3.92

as far as what mods you can do to toughen up the engine, well there anret any tricks except the usual stuff.

Well this will be a work vehicle, but I also do Search and rescue...and other stuff, and I drive it back and forth to school. What I would like to do is make it kinda like a offroad vehicle. Install a Powertrax Lockright Locker, install a propane system ( which I think I can do with a TBI) Also Add OBA, a Premier Power Welder, a lift kit, and I'll be adding some lights and siren to it also for when I have to go code. I know these are tough trucks....I wanted a chevy, even though I am a dodge fan, I have all GM vehicles....Is there any advice that i should follow if Im going to be doing this....I would also like to put a bumper that I can hold a winch in the front, and a roll cage.

There's loads of such info at Ramcharger Central.[Not to toot somebody else's horn] You can spend days reading up on your new toy. Lots of fab info/ideas for bumpers etc.
Welcome to the fold.
