Default Rim ?

I have an 83 3/4 ton. D44 front & D60 rear 8 lug axles. Right now it has 16.5" rims & tires. I would like to go to 15 or 16's with 31" tires. I would like to stay with an 8" wide rim, but I have no idea on the BS needed. Is it even possible to run 15 or 16" rims on these axles? Or will I need to go to 17's to clear the calipers & drums? Thanks, JIM.

16"s will fit, 15"s are a no go. By BS I guess you mean bolt circle. [Or bull****?] Just measure center to center across on the lugs on an 8 bolt pattern. In practice the hole in the center should fit the register on the hub snug to take the load off the lug bolts.

BS=back spacing. Right now the calipers & drums are really close to the raised inner lip. The more BS the farther the rims stick out & the less chance of any thing hitting. Guess I'll hit the junkyard this weekend & check. JIM.
