Default 727 shift kit

I just recently had my 727 re-built but a transmission shop. He was skeptical about installing the shift kit he said the plate does not look right. I have attached several pictures to show what I am talking about. Also the directions do not mention the highlighted checkball or valve (not valve but spring loaded detent of some sort). Do i remove the ball and "valve" or leave them? I checked the numbers on the tranny and it is a '77 with lockup valve body. I need to make sure this shift kit is right before I install the valve body. The number on the transmission case is 8A133009 and has a date stamp of 5899 which should be sep 18th I think of 77. The valve body also has a 77 date stamp. The shift kit is B&M 10225 for 71-77 TF 727
