Default new to me truck

Hello all, I'm new to this forum. i just picked up a 1987 D250 2wd 318 auto trans. i really like the truck overall. it is my first dodge truck, I've only owned fords in the past. i had the truck gone over and pretty much all i need is a driver side coil spring, front bumper, grill and a good wash. i must admit it is one of the best starting and running engines I've seen for its age. well enough rambling here are some pics

Truck looks good for it`s age. Glad you came over to Dodge from the dark side.

Welcome! 318s aren't exactly torque/hp monsters, [regardless of what 1996ram says lol] but they are excellent engines. One of the best Ma Mopar ever made. My Dad's '90 D-150 has over 200,000 on it, aside from valve stem seals has had absolutely nothing done to it other than oil changes, filters and plugs.

I'd offer to send you a bumper and grill,but they're already bolted on '96s truck. So's a fender,the hood,the core sppt. ..................

My 318 is a torque monster. Just look at the work I have done to it. And that`s alot of tough talk for a guy who has a 318 TBI on a 360. Not the recipe for power. At least I have adequate airflow.

I had a Ford.....once. It showed me the true nature of the force. The force of kicking it when it broke. It was '70 Challenger 383/4spd that turned me from the dark side. Damn near indestructable. Took all the abuse a teenage kid could give it. Been a Mopar man every since. 30 yrs more or less. The wiring generally sucks, the bodies rattle, but the drivetrain? Stout.

On a 4x4, all you need is enough power to overpower the tires. The 360/318 TB has plenty up to 4000 rpm, more the enough to keep the lugs cleaned of mud. As far as crawling an obstacle, barely above an idle does just fine thankee very much.

Don't let us hijack your thread Dasaroth, feel free to tell '96 he's full of it lol.
