Default clattering pulleys/air pump

I fixed the gas leak on my 89' and Im noticing a clattering noise from the pulleys especially the air pump. The truck has been sitting for about a month before it never made any noise. When i first started it up yesterday the pulleys made a screeching noise for about 30 sec.The belts are tight, the noise seems to be the loudest from the air pump pulley. Is there a bearing in there thats going out? I know its not a valve making the noise im hearing.

Pull the belts one at a time to see which one's making the noise. Spin the accessories by hand and listen/feel for bad brgs. Or crank it up and use a long screwdriver for a stethoscope to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. A peice of garden hose makes a good 'scope too.

you could pull the belts off. or rub a bar of soap on the belts to see if they are making noise (prolly not though). Then spray the pulleys one by one with WD40. when you hit one and the noise stops, thats the bad egg.

depends. you canr really just change the pulleys. you might need to swap the whole part (pump, alternator, watever). as far as i know anyhow.
