Dose any one know how to find out what gears that in a front and rear diff? I have a 86 Power Ram and don't know what gears that i have.

 

Here's a calculator. Other than that you'll have to count the teeth, divide ring gear by the pinon= ratio. Edit: LOL. Forgot the obvious. See if there's a tag on the cover.

put the rear on jackstands, spin the driveshaft, and have someone count how many times the wheels spin after one driveshaft rotation. i think you might have to mulktiply by 2

Nemesis is close, except you spin the wheel one revolution and count the number of times the drive shaft spins and you have an idea of your gearing.

 

Unless it's a limited slip the spider gears will screw up your revolutions. Get a buddy to help,mark both tires and turn both one revolution simultaneously. Everybody should own a tach,basic neccessity of life lol. Install one,check the RPMs @ 60mph,use the calculator. Or pull the cover and count the teeth. Gear oil probably needs changing anyhow.

 

i know mine does, because its been dripping all over my dads driveway. oops.

 

The only leak that I have is on the rear main seal.
