While your at it, I might suggest a vacume gauge. I plumped mine directly into the truck by putting a tee into the brake vacum line. but you can also just hook one up to an intake port temperarily. They are a good way to determine the condition of your heads and a few other things, there is a whole list of readings for vacum gauges in just about any Chilton's.
