All I can see that would be required is motor mounts, a tranny, tranny mounts, and possibly a driveshaft.

yes. but they want like a step by step thing, with detailed info. there are always so many questions that just pop up. (this bellhousing, that tranny, driveshaft length, i dont know, all sorts of little things).

hey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! man that is a thing of beauty. I have one question does anybody have any idea how much and where to find a big block 421 hemi? even if it needs repairing I don't have a lot of money to spend on it, but have lots of time. this is going to try to be for a 87 D150. What mods have to be made? check out my thread "lifting and finishing the dodge"

I assume you mean a 426 hemi. Just a good bare block would be quite expensive. Nothing to try on a low budget build.
Pontiac had a 421 but it wasn't a hemi.

I went from a 360 to a 400 in my 83 Shortbox. Driveshaft worked fine so did the trans mount. All you need is Bigblock truck mounts(2wd for 2wd and 4x4 for 4x4 they were diff)If you had a smallblock youll need to lengthen the coil/distributer wires if you go 440 you need a bigblock booster( If you have power brake otherwise dont worry remember a 440 has a taller deck hieght that the 383/400s) and youll need adequit cooling. I used the radiator that was in it and it suprisingly kept it cool. Pic of the 83 and a pic of it ready to pull from a 2wd 87 Ramcharger
