Default coolant burning....

so i bought rebuilt heads and got them all on and got the truck running, only to see coolant seemingly coming out from between the head and exhaust manifold gasket... what would cause this? a bad head or a cracked block?

Some of the bolts/studs go into the water jacket in the heads. Some sealant on the threads should take care of it.

thanks so much for mentioning the sealant thing, I'm almost positive that must be what it is now, because it seems to be coming out between the manifold and head, if it were inside the head it should just travel out the exhaust. I will check back in after I attempt the fix tomorrow.

It's a '90 W250 with a 360 btw.
