Default I have a front PS brake hanging

1986 D150 2wd truck. I "thought" it was prob`ly the caliper so I took it off, took a wire wheel to clean the mount & caliper. While I had it off, I thought it would be a good idea to open the bleeder valve & take a c-clamp & push the piston in to make sure it was moving, it did, squirted me....lol. Anyway, put her back together & it was still hang`n a little but not as bad. A couple days later when I had to go into town(~5 mi.), she got bad again, infact I prob`ly had the wheel turned to the 9 to 10 o-clock position( its the Pass. Side hang`n). I posted on a farm/tractor site this question & they said they figuered it to be the brake hose instead of the caliper which was my guess. Just wanted TRUE Dodge expert advise here, don`t want to buy(spend!) something that isn`t broke. Thanks in advance for any input!!!

When calipers start to hang up the can do so intermittently. Be glad it has given you warning and replace the caliper and hose both before it freezes up totally and lets you sit somewhere. Just my humble opinion.

You may as well replace all your brake line to the caliper. The hydrolic line(for the wheel well) is only like $8 then its 5 feet of , i think 3-16" line should be like $4. If thats not it, could it be the module in the frame that takes brake line from the master cylender and distributes it the the 4 wheels(I'm not sure what that is called)

I just replaces all the line in my truck for like $30 , and the vaccum and fuel line for like $20 more. Best investment in an older truck here in MI.

I don't know where Gasman lives so I don't know if rusted lines are a problem for him or not. They are not for me due to a lot less salty environment where I live. That is a separate issue from the one asked about unless he has a pinched line for some reason. (impact or kinking) I suggest always replacing the hose with the caliper due to heat from the caliper.

Thank you gentlemen for your replies!

Seal, I`m "kind`of" a neighbor to charlie1935, I`m here in so./central Il. a little north & more east of him in Wayne co. IDOT does use salt on the US hyways but I usually try to stay off them when there slick & salty...lol!
Now I need to say that I may have said the wrong model of truck. I had said a d150, not sure of that now, on the fender it has 150 royal SE, not sure if that matters parts wise but when I was on the napa site looking up the parts/prices, I saw there was a D & a W....Once again, TY for your replies!

Hey, gasman. You must be near Fairfield. Use to have family there.
The D series is two wheel drive and the W is 4x4.

First off, 10-4 there charlie on the FF....~ 8 miles north of there. & AFTER looking the parts up again....lol, I saw the w & d diffs....duh....TY again!

Now, put the reman`ed caliper & hose on lastnite, took her for a test spin only `bout a mile down the road...welp, dagnabits & @#$$%, its not REAL bad but I WAS disapointed to say the least. When I hit the brakes to turn back around, it straightened up , IF not even went to the left a `lil. I took the core back this eve`n to get SOME money back....lol, & he asked if that fixed it, said its better now but not fixed, he said next thing is the master cylinder to replace. My question is, is he correct or try`n to get salesman of the month....LOL! Now a little more info on the truck, my parents bought it new & mom was the main driver of it. Now check this part out charlie( IF you read it....TY if...lol), a lot of road miles, a lot of trips to Sesser from wayne county...infact I`m "perty sure" its got 300,000 on her! Just wondering if the napa-guy is....right or not....& ya`alls thoughts! Once again, Thanks for any input!
