not so fast, anymore.
Any resolution to this issue?
I've noticed the last few weeks, since I changed my water pump, I've been getting a lower top speed, and been harder to get to top speed too.
Ofcourse, the truck sat for 6 weeks before that.
When I punch it, and the engine sounds about like it's gulping air before going into a very gutheral sounding roar, I only gain about 30 mph in a mile stretch (going uphill on interstate on-ramp) from a running speed of about 30mph. I used to be able to get up to 80 from 30 in under that mile.
I used to be able to push 100, back off the throttle all the way and then give it just enough gas to keep it at speed. Now it's hard to push 90, and I've got to use more throttle to stay there.
I'm actually wondering if it's the gas I've been using, if it's contaminated. Even the first week after installing the new pump, I was back to where I was before the breakdown. So unless the pump took some time to "wear-in" and start causing this issue, I can't really see it being that.
I'm thinking maybe the oil might need to be changed, add some Supertech INjecto cleaner to the tank, and maybe lube up the rear-end.
Being my issue is similar to this issue, I was hoping what the fix for yours was, before spending money. That's all stuff I have to do yet anyways, but would be a waste if it's something more important I need to fix first.
