My '84 snow commander with 318 4-barrel rv cam headers in front of a 727 and geared with 3.23's, will get 14mpg in town and I've gottin 22 on highway.

But my 91 d150 2-wheel drive with a stock 318 fuel injected, automatic and 3.55's gets about 11mpg in town and 16mpg on highway.
The truck runs good, but the 3.55's gotta go.

I have an 88 Power Ram (4x4). 318 with 3 speed auto. ALL STOCK. I have been getting about 13 all around. I have tryed everything to get better fuel economy, but my RPM's run at 3000 when Im doing 70 mph. Does this not seem too high? I know the OD helps a lot, but I feel like I should be doing better than 13. :S

do you have locking hubs? they help fuel ecconomy on 4x4's. with the fact that it is stock and 22 year old it is not getting too bad of fuel economy.

3,000 rm at 70 sounds about right. Like mentioned, install some lockouts this will DEFINITELY help.

Lockouts? I do have auto locking hubs. They are automatic, and only engage when I engage the 4 wheel drive at the transfer case. The front left is always connected to the diff, but the front right disconnects.

I got an 80 w150 with a slant and a NP 435. I get around 15. Thats out here in nebraska (kinda a combination of city and highway mileage) The slant six is seriously worn out. I do have locking hubs though.
Tips for better milage on the older trucks:
Install a manual choke. lockout hubs. tire inflation. wheel alignment. carb tuned good. timing right (advanced a bit). dont use the gas with alcohol in it. synthetic oil. platinum plugs. 195 thermostat. Install an electric fan on rad. drive/accelerate slower.
