Well I dont know if this will help but I heard of a guy that wired his hood ornament to his horn somehow so whenever he pulled on it the horn went off. This may only work for the old style spring loaded types. But I thought i'd throw it out there. Good luck!! Get'EM!!

i could see someone setting up the horn to go off if someone pulled on the hood ornament. it would be fairly easy.

Looks like no real way to stop the theft, stroll the junk yards for replacements.
You Could buy the J.C. Whitney ones, But you would still be out the Bucks any way you look at it.
Question,
Is it getting randomly stolen, or is it pretty much the same location,day, night?

got an 89 ram D100 and mine is hefty... Never felt a plastic that heavy. But regardless, I think that every one is missing one point... no matter what is at the core, chrome plated should still conduct electricity just fine. Mine has magnets stick to it, and if someone wants to risk touching it I'll rig it up to the battery and we'll see who's right.
