Anyone have tips on removing the side trim on an '88 D100?

I recently acquired the truck and want to repaint it and clean up the sides. The truck has the typical thick black stips along the bottom of the truck as well as a thin chrome strip that runs fron to back along the fender to tail. At a glance it looks like the botom trim is bolted on.

The trim clips onto things that are riveted to the body. I think the trim just pulls off if you tug at it.

 

Push up on the trim and then pull out on the top.
