Question 85 ram - rewiring project, need some advice

I relocated my battery box to the rear of the truck. I installed a ford type solenoid in the battery box to shut off power to the entire truck via toggle switch; as a security measure. Will I still need a starter relay? Can I wire the "starter" switch straight to the starter or will I need a relay for that?

you could wire the starter to a switch. it is the single brown wire on the starter relay. hit with some power and it will turn your engine over.
