318 oil pan question
i got the oil pan off today. it was a bit more work than i thought. it is freezing cold out here. there was more holes in the oil pan than i thought but they all seem fixable. IMPORTANT QUESTION: my truck is outside but it is kinda shelter from the cab forward. if i can not weld the holes in my oil pan today would the bottom end of my truck be ok with a garbage bag over it tonight or should i put the oilpan back in for the night?

&*^%%*$^$%(%*&^()(^&)*)_*(^_&##*E_&_). snowed last night. the bag is still on the engine even though it was windy. i got my old welding teacher to braze it for me today. the snow really lit a fire under my a$$. i was think about putting it back on tonight and taking it back off tomoro to paint it or would the gabage bag be ok for another night?
Edit: i'm leaving the garbage bag on for another night. i'm too tired, too sore and too clean right now to crawl under my truck and reinstall my oilpan for the night.

hey, I feel for ya. Right now it's about 4 degrees outside. About 13 inches of snow with huge drifts. THe plow made a huge pile to close off my driveway. No fear though, I just locked in the hubs and drove right through it. No shoveling required. Kinda fun actually. That new process trans in granny gear plus the low side of the transfer case really crawls in 4Low. I think I need to replace my U-joints on the ends of the axle shafts going into the wheel hubs. I wonder how hard that is to do?
