What other projects are you working on?
In my short time here I have found that at least a few of you have other project vehicles like me. One of the other members asked to see pics of mine. It's no show car but I do like to share it. It is a 1955 Studebaker Commander Regal C-Body Coupe with a 289 4 Bbl. out of a 1956 Studebaker Skyhawk, it was originally a 224 V-8. It has the factory 3 speed column shift with electric OD and currently has 4.27 gears but it is getting a fresh 3.73 posi in the Spring. The engine has been in the car at least 40 years as near as we can tell and doesn't appear to have ever been apart. It still runs good but leaks oil like the Exxon Valdez. Replacing the pan gaskets and crank seals is also scheduled for the Spring. I don't have a heated garage.
It was a Texas car brought to Illinois in the early 70's and parked in a building with several other classic cars until the late 90's. It was sold to the previous owner around '96 and still had the Texas title and plates. They got it running, fixed the brakes and put a new interior in it and drove it off and on then parked it again for several years until deciding to sell it. That's when I bought it, I have done quite a bit mechanically on it and have a lot more to do but I drive it as much as I can so here it is:

So, let's see yours.....

Neat! Can't say I've ever seen one of those.
My project (besides my truck lol) is my 89 Toyota MR2.
I bought it 5 years ago and I've driven it maybe 5000 miles... the thing is always down for some sort of modification!
It just came back from the bodyshop 2 months ago. Shaved the door handles, antenna, and side marker lights, added a real carbon fiber front lip from KD Garage, added a Kaminari rear bumper skirt, modified the spoiler and moved it back 6", added a true carbon fiber trunk lid (also from KD Garage) and a (also) true carbon fiber hood from VIS. We added factory side skirts and a fiberglass factory engine lid from a supercharged model. The car was then painted a blend of Ford Vermillion red, Porsche Carrera red, and a hint of purple. Put a layer of red and gold flake over it and then many, many coats of clear!
I stress 'true carbon fiber' as there are many companies out there that just slap a layer of CF over fiberglass... that's lame!
The interior was also fully redone with years of searching for the most perfect factory pieces and I added some perforated leather race seats.
The audio was also just fully done. For the head unit, I have a Premier FH-P800BT double din in gloss black with blue light-up highlights.
My speakers are Infitiy Kappa 32.7cf 3.5" and 42.5i 4" that sound AMAZING. I've never heard anything so clear!
For subs I have custom 8" enclosures each with a JL Audio 8W3v2 sub in them. These (and my 4 interior speakers) are powered by my new JL Audio 500/5 amp. These subs might be small, but they really hit hard!
For suspension I'm running F2 coilovers. Ride is a little stiff but the adjustablility is what sold me on them. I have a Cusco strut tower brace up front and a matching one for the rear. Also have the complete Prothane kit... every bushing was replaced: control arms, strut rods, steering rack, etc etc. This helped a TON! I also installed some custom rear tie rods that offer more adjustability. I've installed front and rear large sway bars too to help hold the road.
For wheels and tires it has 16x7" ET38 Riax rims by American Racing on it. They are black with a chrome lip and are wrapped in Hankook Ventus RS-2 205/45 tires in the front and 215/45 in the rear. The rims alone weigh 15lbs which isn't bad for $400 rims!
The car came stock with 10.35" rear disk brakes and 10.16" front vented disks. The front brakes have little scoops on them to funnel air onto the brakes! I have cross-drilled Magnum Performance rotors and Porterfield Street and Strip pads. They look badass! I also bought 4 new calipers and had them powdercoated red with black mounts.
The engine is stock (but dressed up) for now as I'm building a 300whp 3sgte turbo engine for it. This should be done in the spring. I'll be running a T3/T4 turbo and Accel DFI engine management.
There's more too but my hands are tired!
Check my web page for pics... it's pretty outdated though. I'll have to fix that soon!

Nice, you have been busy, bet it's a blast to drive. At 6' 1-1/2" and 235 Lbs. it would probably be a bit cramped for me though. I'm sure you've seen '53 and '54 Studebaker coupes, if you've ever looked through any picture albums of the Bonneville Salt Flats I guarantee you have. Mine is the same car except for the grille and hood. It looks like a catfish coming down the road LOL.
Hi,
Ok, the story behind my Mustang.
I originally purchased this as a project vehicle. The Mustang spent most of its life in Nevada up until 2 years ago when the person i purchased the vehicle from drove it to Indiana. I was looking for another project vehicle after selling my 85 Volve 760T (which i regret) and i saw the stang for sale on Craigslist for $850. I ended up paying $750 knowing it needed ALOT of work. Now the Mustang lives in Illinois. Little did i know, this project vehicle turned into an obsession with Foxbody Mustangs. I ended up giving my wife my 02 Nissan Sentra SER so i could sell her Kia SUV to buy parts for my Stang
The drivetrain is very weak. It has a 2.3 N/A motor with the Dual Plug setup, and behind that is an A4LD auto trans.
Its come along way since i purchased it in Feb of last year. My goal for next year is to have the body work 100% done (my fender and trunk lid need love), then next step is to drop a 302 in it, and possibly a T5 if im up for switching out the pedal assembly. If not, a C3 will probably sit behind the 302. I was debating on going the 2.3T route but i think a 302 would suit me better.
I have tonns of pictures but i thought i show the sellers pic, to where it sits now.
Enjoy!

Looks like it's coming along nicely. Back in 1980 I got to drive a low mile '78 Mustang Pace Car with a Turbo 2.3, 4 speed and 3.89 posi. Very impressive! It changed my mind about 4 bangers and hair dryers.
