Default 93 W150 318 - Headers.

Hello guys.

My first question, is did the bolt pattern for the exhaust manifolds change when they went to the Magnum motors in 92/93? Earlier 318's used the same bolt pattern for the exhaust manifolds? Did the port pattern on the heads change? Meaning, that headers for a 91 or earlier 318 could bolt up.

My second question is about the Summit, Flowtech, Headman Headers(they all look the same to me). In my experience, summit has been unreliable on what years they say an item fits. Is there a reason that the 92/93 W150 is not included in the listing. I noticed the flowtech/headmand mention, that the headers will not fit with the High Torque starter. While I was under the truck this morning, I noticed that the starter does alot like the starter I have on my 95 Roadmasters. Those starters are a high torque starter, that was standard on the same year Corvettes. So can an earlier gear reduction starter be used? Did Dodge use a gear reduction starter? The gear reduction starters are inline up and down, but have more power, are lighter, and take less juice than the old school direct drive starters. Or, is there a different set of headers that will fit with the high torque starter?

These are the headers.

I should add, that the reason I'm looking at headers, is because the manifolds are leaking. It looks like one side already was done, and had the bolts replaced. But the other side, it's hard to tell where the bolt heads ever are(or nuts on the studs). I figured the only way to get them off that side, was to grind the bolt heads off, then pull the studs with vise grips, or weld a new nut to them. I'm pretty sure It would trash the pass side exhaust manifold, grinding the bolt heads off, so I figured why bother with replacement manifolds, when you can get a pair of headers for less than $200, then strip them, and coat them with ceramic coating.

The duties of this truck will be plowing snow, and pulling a car trailer. We are working on getting it as reliable as possible, for these duties. It might be mildly off roaded, or used to pull my Jeep Cherokee out when it gets stuck. So ground clearance is not the biggest issue.

Pass side. Heater control valve needs to be replaced, and the trans dipstick needs a collar put on it. You can see how the bolt heads/nut heads are pretty much blending in. The putty is on there from the previous owner.

Drivers side. You can see the bolts are all fresh. I thought you could see the starter better. I will have to get a better shot of it.
