transmission replacement
Hi
I bought and now received a used transmission. My transmission has 2 electrical connections on the side and the one I received only has one. Does anyone know what the difference is? I have a 1992 W250 4x4 automatic with overdrive. Could the one received be a 3 speed. I did locate the stamping numbers but not sure what it means. My number is PK53008149 1060 6402 and the other is PK4446106 9978 9294. I did e-mail the yard where I bought it online. I am in Jersey and the yard is in Florida. I am waiting for a response from them but thought I would throw out the question to the forum. Thanks for any help.

some pictures might help. i think i do know what you are talking about. one connection should be the neutral/park safety/ backup lights switch and the other should be the speed sensor near the tail of the transmition.
this is what i'm talking about. this is a A500 from my 91 2wd. i think you might have to transfer some parts from the old trans to the new one.

crazzywolfie,
If counting the speed sensor on the tail after the transfer case I have 3 connections. I have the neutral, safety, back-up switch like you say but also have a what looks like a 2 wire plug that snaps into the trans just up and slighty to the rear of the safety switch. It sits on a little ledge behind the the kick down cable. I did some research online and found out the yard sent me an older A904 3 speed instead of the newer A500 4 speed. These 2 will not interchance because in 92 the 5.2 was changed from the 318 LA to the 5.2L MAGNUM which the research says is computer controled along with the transmission. Also the A500 is longer than the A904. I can not find out how to decipher the trans build date, mine is 1060 and the A904 is 9978.
