Question Fuel Pump Sock for '93 W 150

I tried the local Auto Zone to see if I could buy just the fuel pump sock and was told it wasn't available seperatly. Seems like a load of bull-pucky to me.... I've got the sock off right now and the lower float portion behind the sock is freed up and the pump now works, so I'm thinking there must be just enough junk in the old sock to have interfeared with the float???
Input greatfully accepted.

Advance Auto carries that filter sock. It was special order but I had it the next day.

I looked in Advance Auto online and was unable to find it. Do you have a part #?

Mine was an Airtex fuel strainer. Advance # 3140482. Manufacturers # FS148. Price $14.99

Apparently they changed this filter from 89 to 93. Sorry I didn't know about the change.

I've tried looking up as "sock", "Strainer", "in tank filter/strainer/sock", "fuel pump sock", "pre-pump filter/strainer/sock", ....

I looked up your fs148 and it's entirely different. The one on my pump is cylindrical, same diamiter as the pump housing and aprox 2" deep. Attached to bottom of pump housing and made up of fine strainer mesh like some perminant coffee filters are, moulded onto plastic cage/frame. I'm half tempted to see if I could replace the mesh with some of my silk screening fabric.... after, of course, making sure the fabric wouldn't desinagrate in the fuel! Since it snaps off the base, I can't understand why it's not available as a seperate part.
