i'm looking at doing the same thing accept using a snowmachine trailer for my bed. my plan is to take some graded bolt and counter sink them on the top and drill straight down through the factory mounts. 6 to 8 bolts and it should hold just fine. i can't wait to see the pics!!

that one picture makes it look like the bed is sloped backwards. have you try putting some weight on it to see how close the tires come to rubbing the bed?

umm yea i hauled my gooseneck loaded with hay today and there was still about 5 in beetween the tires and bed overall and i ended up building some mounts like the stock bed ones i made 4 + the two stock ones on the drives side wich made 3 on each side and then over my hump i but u bolt on it i think it looks slanted cause i have my shocks fully aired up but im gonna put it to the real test tomoro cause im going to load it with 40 bales of hay about 3200 pounds could do it before with the bed gonna see how it does with the flatbed lol i think it helped my gas mileage a little bit though just with the flatbed on it not sure does any one know if it would at all

I attached my flatbed to the 8 oem mounting points. I welded short pieces of angle iron to the side of the main rail of the bed, welded a 1/2" nut to the topside, set them in place and ran 1/2" stainless bolts up into them. NeverSiezed also.
