well i just put 35s on my truck close to the same thing as yours at stock height and ill tell you right now they will rub if you try to turn them at all on the bottom corners of the fenders.
Im going to be putting a 4" on it soon and i know that is enough to clear the fenders as far as them rubbing on other components underneath... well i didnt turn my that far yet.
as far as gears 4:10s will get you about back to stock ratio with 35s. i still have 3.55s and it did spin the 35s in the drive way lol.

here is a link to pics of mine now with 35s

Do a 4 inch lift with rear blocks and front springs. Also add a drop pitman arm and some bilstein 5100 shocks.

I have a 4 in with 35s and it does not rub on any in town use. when I romp on it hard, I mean petal to the metal off road racing, It hits my fenders and even crunched them in a little.

If its any help, you can get a rough country 4" lift kit w/ shocks (you don't need Bilsteins) for around $350 with new front springs and a block in the rear. I'm putting that lift on my '87 with 35's and I've decided to re-gear to 4:56.

LOL! MPG? Oh that's a good one. I took a trip to SW Kansas a few years ago with mine, 1800 mile round trip, I averaged around 9-10 MPG. I just hope it's not your daily driver, and your on a tight budget. Oh, did I mention that at the time of my trip, I only had 33" tires on it. I stopped checking mileage after that trip, and since then have installed the 35" tires.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-...Q5fAccessories

Does that seem legit for a 81 d150 lift?
