Question hot starting problem

I have a problem with a 1993 Dodge Ram W150 4x4 with the 360. It will not start for a few minutes after running normally. I can run it forever, but then when i stop, it will not fire the coil. I have replaced the ECM, c.p.s sensor and the diode in the distributor. I am getting a problem with the ECM not grounding out the coil, but after it sits for a few minutes it starts right off. Me and my mechanic are in a fix here. We cannot figure out what the problem is. The fuel pump is loading normally, and the injectors are firing properly. I am now wondering if this is a relay problem or wire bundle problem under the fuse box or behind the distributor since all the things we replaced had no effect on the hot starting problem. What else could this be? It only happens when it has been warmed up and running for quite a while. We also tried a new coil to no effect, but I may try that again. Please do help if you can. No codes came up on any scan we did.

I have the exact same problem. My truck starts up strong every morning, when I drive anywhere, from the gas station down the road, or to my parents house 2 hours away the truck runs great. Anytime I turn the truck off after running I can't get it to start up again for at least 10 to 30 minutes. I've had to sit for 1.5 hours before.

I've taken it to three different mechanics and the damn thing still won't run right. I've done some online research and I'm starting to think this is an ASD problem.

Should I just replace the ASD? or what?

I will talk to my mechanic today, and tell him to look into the ASD relay. I will get back to you with what I find out since it seems you have the same problem. What parts have you replaced, and what did your mechanics find out so far because this is driving me nuts to sat the least. I will get back to you as soon as I can with more info on this. Thank you for your reply.

Looks like it could not be the ASD relay if when you turn the key and you can hear the fuel pump load. Your injectors will still fire if the fuel pump is loading. It looks like some sort of problem with getting the coil to ground, but many things could cause that. I will have my mechanic replace the coil to see if that helps any. If you are not hearing the fuel pump load when you turn the key it could be the ASD relay.
