Default not too happy with my truck today

about a week ago i completely ran my truck out of gas while i was messing around with it in the driveway. today i finaly desided to put some gas in my truck. i cant get it to start right. the only way i can get it to start is stick a screw driver down the carb to hold the choke open and hold the gas to the floor and it starts but it will not rev up high like it should with the pedal to the floor. gas also pours out of the carb while i try to start it. i've pulled all the plugs and they are all are soaked with gas. i cleaned them and reinstalled them and there was no difference. any ideas?

Sounds like a stuck float. Try gently rapping the bowl with a screwdriver handle.

thanks SEAL. i try rapping on the the bowl but it did not seem to help. i desided to take the carb off and take a look. there was a brass washer just sitting in the float bowl. i have no idea what it was doing there so i removed it. i think someone else had taken it apart at sometime and a few things got over looked. i reinstalled the carb and it seems to be ok and will idle by its self now.
