how hard is it to rebuild one of these 904's? if i run into too much trouble i'm going to replace the trans in the car and drive it while i'm working on the truck

have you tried driving the car. does it move if you put it in gear?

i went to the o'reilly web site and looked up cranks for both the truck and car and got the same part number. i pasted it down below and it says for manual trans use a specific pilot bushing. is this all i need inorder to use my 435 instead of the 904 that is on the donor?

no i haven't tried anything. i went to look at it friday and didn't even pay attention to anything but the engine, the guy called me after i left and said i can have the car too.

before you try to rebuild it you should try to find out what is wrong with it. some times people run into problems caused by the simplest things or thing that are not that important like not enough transmission fluid or 2nd gear no longer working.

i'm gonna replace filter and fluid and see if that helps any... even if i could limp it for a few months until i get the truck done.
