Default 1973 Dodge 3/4 ton as a donor?

My search has turned up a 1973 3/4 ton (D-200) 2 wheel drive with a 4 speed & a 360.
The body is in real good shape including the box.
OK, the question is, before I head out 500 miles, will the cab & fenders & rad support fit my 1973 D-100 4X4 short-box?
2nd. question is will I be able to get the 8 foot box cut down to mimic the dimensions of my short-box?
It seems that the extra length between a 8 foot box and a 6 foot box is between the wheel-well and the front of the box.
Fleet-side boxes on both trucks.
Is that thinking correct?

I think if this is do-able, I have found the answer to my Cab & box replacement search.

Thanks in advance from those who know.

Rick

the front fenders and rad support should should bolt on. from the pictures i have been looking at the extra 1 1/2 foot on the long box is between the wheel-well and the front of the box. i think shortening a box would be a lot of work.
