On my 91 w150 318 I've never had a need to use the ac. Now I'm stationed in 29 palms and its hot as hell lol. The ac is still hooked up and blows semi cold. I was gonna go down to autozone and buy a charging kit but I heard they don't really work to good. I've never done an ac recharge myself and curious if its as easy as it sounds. Basically how do I do it lol. Thanks.

 

Unless your system has been retrofitted it is an R-12 system. You cannot buy this refrigerant anymore. The system will have to be retrofitted to use 134-A or maybe you can find a shop that still has some R-12. Good luck.
