Default 91 ram fuel problems

Hi

I have a 91 ram 250. Some reason i keep losing fuel to the eng. I have a manual pump. It's seems that I'm running out of diesel fuel. I checked all lines and the thing in the tank and no leaks anywhere. It's a new pump and seems to be working good. A lot of time am just drive and the eng just dies for a sec then goes again. The other day I lost all fuel in the system and had to be towed home. Am wondering if the unit in the tank is some how making me suck air in to the system. And should I go with a electric pump? and if so which one. and should it be a inner or outer pump. Thanks for any help.
