'85 slant six to 318 bellhousing diff. & newb intro
Hey, I've got an '85 D-100 shortbed with an auto 318 in it and I just recently got an '82 with a slant six and a 4 over. I'm wanting to put the manual in the '85 but I don't know if I need to get a new bellhousing or not.
Also I'm new on here. I'm 17 and the truck is the familys, my car is a '60 Buick LeSabre. We've had the truck for about six years, we bought it from a guy that had a few too many and decided to redo the wiring on it. It had been running but died about 3 years ago due to the wiring. This past week we got a new wiring harness for it and got it running again but it still needs a little to get it goin good before we drive it home(it's at my grandparents)

I believe you have to get a different bellhousing, you can tell just by looking at the location difference of the starter between the 318 and the s6. Is the manual a 833? Does the shifter come from the center of the trans or the drivers side? The clutch linkage you can still order through the dealer.
