what is needed to convert the rear drums to disc brakes

Just curious, but why do you want to convert? The vast majority of your braking is done by the front end and drums have better holding power as e-brakes.

I'd like to do that also. I tow all the time and rear disc would enable much better stopping ....

I don't think that rear brakes would be as beneficial as you think - properly operating trailer brakes are where the money is at.
